Health Certificate

Planning to travel with your pet?

Whether you're moving across state lines or flying internationally, a health certificate is often required to ensure your pet meets all the necessary health regulations. At Nova Pets, we are here to simplify the process and help you obtain the correct documentation for a smooth and stress-free journey.

What is a Health Certificate

A health certificate, also known as a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI), is an official document issued by a licensed and USDA-accredited veterinarian. This certificate verifies that your pet has been examined, is free from contagious diseases, and meets all the health requirements of your destination.

When Does Your Pet Need One?

You may need a health certificate in the following situations:

  • Domestic Travel: Airlines often require a health certificate dated within 10 days of departure for pets traveling in the cabin or cargo.

  • International Travel: Countries have specific entry requirements, including vaccinations, tests, and documentation.

  • Interstate Movement: Some states mandate health certificates for pets crossing state lines.

  • Relocation or Adoption: When moving with your pet or adopting a pet from another state or country.
